In a deeply divided Congress, China seems to be one of the few issues that have caught the attention and drawn the ire of lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle.
Last year, Republicans made sure to tie the coronavirus pandemic to its origin of Wuhan all the way to Election Day.
In President Joe Biden’s first few months in the White House, he’s made China a key element of foreign policy goals, warning members in his first address to a joint session of Congress that Chinese President Xi Jinping is “deadly earnest” about world domination. ....

UPDATED 12:50 PM PT – Thursday, April 22, 2021
Critics said at a time when confidence in U.S. elections is at an all-time low, Americans have called for strong voting security, but Democrats have done the opposite.
On Wednesday, the New York State Assembly passed a bill to automatically restore voting rights for all prisoners immediately upon release regardless of their crime. Incarcerated individuals would not have to wait until the final date of their sentence to register to vote or vote in an election.
BREAKING: The New York State Assembly just passed S.830B, which would automatically restore voting rights for all New Yorkers upon release from prison. The legislature must now send it to the Governor for his signature. ....

WATCH: U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield Tells Al Sharpton Group: 'White Supremacy' in America's 'Founding Documents and Principles'

14 Apr 2021
U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) on Wednesday that “the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”
Thomas-Greenfield addressed the NAN’s 30th annual summit, praising Sharpton for a “lifetime of activism” and thanking him for “never backing down.” She did not mention Sharpton’s history of antisemitic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric, or his role in inciting riots against Jews.
Instead, Thomas-Greenfield recited a familiar theme from Critical Race Theory, which holds that America was founded upon white supremacy, and that racism infects all of America’s institutions as a result. ....

Why You Should Be Skeptical Of The New 'Tough On China' Joe Biden

Why You Should Be Skeptical Of The New ‘Tough On China’ Joe Biden
February 17, 2021
The Biden administration and its corporate media cheerleaders are at pains to tell you that career-long China kowtower Joe Biden is “toughonChina.” But toughness can only be proven by action. Contra the official narrative, however, President Biden’s initial policies and those tasked with implementing and building upon them do not indicate strength. Rather, to America’s detriment, they signal a reversion to the status quo ante of weakness.
The media has trumpeted Biden administration rhetoric on three key China-related issues: the administration’s affirmation with caveats of the Trump administration’s designation of the Chinese Communist Party’s atrocities in Xinjiang as constituting “genocide”; its pledge of a “rock-solid commitment” to Taiwan; and its promise to maintain a “free and open” Indo-Pacific again, with caveats. ....
