2 try to cut open ATM, held after gunfight | Noida News

Noida: Two men were arrested after a gunfight in Sector 58 early Thursday morning. According to police, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, the accused allegedly tried to cut open an ATM of Axis Bank in Chhajarsi area. On Wednesday, an FIR was lodged against the duo.
The robbers were identified as Sehnwaz Khan and Haider Ali, both are from Gautam Budh Nagar.
Ankur Aggarwal, ADCP (Noida) told TOI that they received a tip-off that the two men will go towards Parthala Chowk to rob an ATM.
“We had set up a police check post in the area and two people on a motorcycle were seen coming from Charmurti Chowk. We asked them to stop but they started firing on our team,” he said.

Gunmen believed to be armed robbers, attacked banks and police stations in two Osun State towns Wednesday evening.
The two towns – Ikire in Irewole local government Area and Apomu in Isokan local government – both off the Ibadan-Ile-Ife Expressway, were under attack almost simultaneously between 5:30pm and about 7pm.
The gunmen broke into the bank branches. They killed a police guard at the bank in Apomu and shot a bank official in the leg, according to sources in the town.
They also reportedly shot a policeman during the attack on the bank in Ikire. They shot into the air to scare residents.

A truck carrying cooldrinks, chocolates and other food overturned on the Perseverance road on Monday afternoon.
According to police, the truck driver, 67, swerved to avoid a vehicle driving in front of him and lost control of the truck.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said police dispersed a crowd of people who had started to loot the truck.
“Most of the contents were intact and police recovered some of the stuff in bushes,” Naidu said.

LAHORE: Two robbers were injured and another one died after they had stolen money from a Chinese national in Punjab's capital on Monday, police said.
Police said shortly after the robbery, the robbers' motorcycle had collided with a tractor on Multan Road due to overspeeding — leading to the death of one individual. The remaining two sustained injuries and were arrested by the police.
The Chinese national claimed the bag that the men stole contained Rs700,000.
Geo News received the footage of the event, which showed that the driver, Shahbaz, stopped the car after robbers resorted to aerial firing. Following their firing, the robbers snatched the bag from the Chinese citizen and a cheque at gunpoint and fled.
