Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans French Quarter celebrates grand opening


The new Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans French Quarter, located at 317 North Rampart Street, hosted its grand opening celebration earlier this month, introducing a bright, spacious and upscale, all-suite, extended-stay hotel to the New Orleans tourism landscape.
The opening was marked by the attendance of New Orleans Mayor, Mitch Landrieu and Global Head of Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites by Hilton Adrian Kurre, as well as executives of HRI Properties (HRI) and HRI Lodging (HRIL), Hilton
Hotels & Resorts, the Industrial Development Board and Wells Fargo Bank. Palmisano Group was the general contractor for the project with HCI Design serving as architect of record. ....

Kwasi Asare, Feedia CEO and Founder, leads VCDC Board of Directors

Kwasi Asare, FEEDIA Founder and CEO, has been appointed to The Board of Directors for the Ghana and US based Non Profit Organization, The Village Communities Development Center (VCDC).
Mr. Asare recently commented on VCDC s roadmap for the future. The primary goal for the next 12 months , Asare states, will be to fund the launch of a community center with a STEM education focus. Looking farther ahead, the aim is to improve the quality of life of people of rural Ghana on a sustainable basis.
This appointment was driven by Kwasi Asare s work within the social impact, marketing, technology, and business development arenas; specifically his work envisioning and implementing growth, marketing, and business development strategies across the planet for nonprofit and for profit companies for almost two decades. ....

Lloyd Price, R&B Pioneer, Dies at 88 - OffBeat Magazine

Lloyd Price, a native of Kenner and R&B pioneer died on May 6, 2021. Price’s manager, Tom Trapani, did not specify a cause or place of death. Price was 88.
Born March 9, 1933, in Kenner, Louisiana, Price learned to play both the trumpet and the piano. But it was his singing that brought him to the attention of Art Rupe, the president of the Los Angeles-based Specialty Records. The following are excerpts from the
