April 6, 2021 After an undefeated regular season and victory at the Cascade Conference Championships, Lewis-Clark State’s Cole Olsen has been named the USTFCCCA West Region Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year. And Head Coach Mike Collins was honored as the regional Men’s Coach of the Year. Cole Olsen Olsen is 4-for-4 on the season after winning the Bushnell Invitational, both LC State Winter Invitationals, and most recently the Cascade Conference Championship. He helped lead the Warriors to their first Cascade Conference title in their first year as members, and the fourth conference title since Olsen joined the team. He is the first Warrior to win the award since Sam Atkin. ....
February 16, 2021 Three Lewis-Clark State College student-athletes have been named Cascade Conference Athletes of the Week. Cross country’s Cole Olsen and women’s basketball’s Abbie Johnson each earned their second awards of the season, while baseball’s Tallon Thomason earned his first nod as a Warrior. Cole Olsen Olsen dominated Friday when we won the LC State Winter Invitational One by nearly a minute-and-a-half. His time of 24:01 is the second-fastest time by a senior in the program record books. The Clearwater native led the Warrior men to their second team victory of the season. The Warriors host the LC State Winter Invitational Two Feb. 26th. The meet will serve as the final tune up for the Cascade Conference Championships on March 26th, which will also be held in the Lewiston Orchards. ....
Cole Olsen Olsen, a senior from Clearwater, Idaho, was the named the league’s Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. He placed first individually at the Bushnell Invitational and helped the Warrior men’s team to a first-place finish in a meet where the Warriors had four finishers inside the top10. Olsen won the race with a time of 24:50 and finished four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Jansen Edmiston Edmiston, a senior guard from Hermiston, Oregon, was named the conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She averaged about 14 points and 6 rebounds as the Warriors split a two-game series with NCAA Division II Montana State – Billings. The LC women return home for a recently added game against Eastern Oregon. Tip-off is set for 4pm at the Activity Center. ....
