ONE of the more important things about Ian Blackford standing up and delivering his speech is that it is beamed unedited worldwide. All those news outlets that congratulated the spectacular independence majority in Holyrood will have been watching, and I rather think that Johnson knows that – hence he did not answer! Well, that, and he is a petulant, spoiled man child that has never, at a guess, had the word “no” directed at him. Johnson cannot cope with defeat, he cannot cope with having to do the will of others, and certainly does not register in his overly privileged Oxbridge mind the right of the democratic will.

The division will not go away or be healed without a resolution to the reasons why that division exists IT is demonstrated once again that Scotland is broadly evenly split on independence. The opposition parties exploit this by maintaining that division. Their problem is that they fail to understand that a split of opinion like this can never be resolved while fact-based reasonable opinion remains untested. What they are promoting instead is that because the split exists, we are going to impose the status quo regardless. If that split was more polarised there is a case for that position, but it isn’t, and all the while the perceived injustices and constraints continue, then there will always be a demand for radical change.
IT is at times difficult to sort out what is mythology with that that has passed into legend, and of course that that was rubbish when first formulated, and has remained rubbish even though it has been tested on the proving ground of debate. No this is not the introduction to Stephen Fry’s latest book on the classical world of gods, goddesses and intrigue but more the introduction to how some people view Scotland’s chances as an independent nation. For some obscure reason or indeed extreme Stockholm syndrome (perhaps to be renamed Jockholm syndrome), they still try and persevere with the too wee, too poor, too stupid argument.
TO the UDI proclaimers, the “hierarchy don’t want independence” shouters and assorted others. what gives? What actually gives? You do realise that that is the rUK establishment across the Rio Tweed? You know, the ones that are past masters when it comes to divide and conquer! So what actually gives that some people on social media are doing Downing Streets work for them? Obviously there are those that are doing it because that is what they are there for but then there are others, notably those that have failed to gain position within the SNP, and so deep is their grievance that they have placed their ego above achieving independence.
