A plan submitted by Pacifica Companies to the California Department of Public Health to allow for the transfer of residents from Sakura Intermediate Care Facility in Boyle Heights has been rejected, pending further amendments recommended by public health authorities.
The report, titled “Transition Plan,” was submitted on March 29 by Beverly Ito, Sakura Gardens administrator, on behalf of its owners, Pacifica Companies, with a proposed effective date of June 30, 2021. ....

The Keiro Intermediate Care Facility became Sakura Gardens ICF when Pacifica acquired the Keiro facilities five years ago.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis urged the California Department of Public Health on Wednesday to reject a proposal submitted by Sakura Gardens Intermediate Care Facility to close the facility and move its elderly residents.
The report, titled “Transition Plan,” was submitted on March 29 by Beverly Ito, Sakura Gardens administrator, on behalf of its owners, Pacifica Companies, with a proposed effective date of June 30, 2021. It states that as of March 23, 2021, Sakura Gardens would cease to accept new admissions. ....
