Unions demand suspension of face-to-face classes in Costa Rica
San Jose, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) The unions of the education sector demanded on Friday to Costa Rica s Ministry of Public Education (MEP) to suspend face-to-face lessons, and go to distance learning until the current Covid-19 crisis defuses.
In February, the MEP started the 2021 school year using blending teaching a mixture of face-to-face-and virtual modality, but now, in view of peak of Covid-19 cases, the unions demand to only choose online classes.
The petition, disclosed in social networks, is signed by the Association of Secondary School Teachers, the National Association of Educators, the Union of Educators of Costa Rican Education and the Union of School Canteen Workers and Related. ....

The agreement comes just before Iranian law on Tuesday requires the government to stop allowing the inspection at short-notice of declared or undeclared nuclear sites. However, the agreement will give IAEA officials less access and end their right to make snap inspections.
The Financial Times notes that new data from the Israeli Health Ministry suggests the COVID-19 vaccine made by BioNTech and Pfizer has been highly effective at preventing infection in Israel. The real world data showed that the vaccine was 89 per cent effective at preventing infection of any kind and 94 per cent effective against symptomatic infection. The initial clinical trial run by BioNTech and Pfizer found the vaccine was ....
