Frame rules to give Indian consultancy firm preference in contracts: Demand in RS
NEW DELHI: A demand to frame rules giving Indian consultancy companies preference in contracts on the lines of the new US federal spending policy was made in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Raising the issue through a zero hour mention, BJP’s Vinay P Sahasrabuddhe said the new US President Joe Biden last month asked federal agencies to purchase products and services produced in America.
The government of India, too, should frame a new policy giving preference to Indian consultancy firms over foreign entities.
Local consultancy often lose out to foreign firms due to eligibility criteria requiring certain experience, he said. ....

New Delhi: The Upper House of parliament on Tuesday passed the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Bill, 2021 to regularise unauthorised colonies in Delhi.
The Bill replaces the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 which was promulgated by President Ram Nath Kovind on December 30, 2020 to extend the validity of the Act of 2011 for a period of three years from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023. ....
