Medieval Madness is back at Kiwi North, in Whangārei, later this month.

It s time for latent ladies, knights, serfs and jesters to dust off their glorious garb in preparation for this year s Medieval Madness. The annual event at Kiwi North in Whangārei is back again with a day of medieval activities, food and fun. Punters will be able to fight a knight, and enjoy mounted medieval displays and Celtic drumming band Clan Celtica. There will also be train and tractor rides, face painting, a bouncy castle, and more. The event is on January 31 from 10am to 3pm. ....

Surfing and wildlife spotting are two popular pastimes along Victoria s Great Ocean Road, but rarely are the two enjoyed at the same time.
That all changed for an excited crowd at the Apollo Bay main beach, west of Melbourne, after a koala made its way along the sand and at one point sat in the water.
Amateur photographer Kim Bedford was on hand with her family when the marsupial emerged from trees in nearby sand dunes. ....

Auckland s most deadly beaches.
A lingering shark has closed Ōhope beach to swimmers just a day after a pod of orca whales gave tourists a show.
Whakatāne Surf Lifesaving Club captain Michelle Cossey confirmed the regional lifeguards had made the decision to take down the flags after the shark had been swimming in between the flags all morning.
It s against advice to go into the water but we don t own the beach so we cannot stop people from going in right now.
The flags are down and that s showing the public we re not recommending swimming plus the shark sign is up so they can see the reason why. ....
