MAPS to host Portuguese cooking class fundraiser with Chef Ana Ortins O Jornal CAMBRIDGE - The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) is hosting a virtual Portuguese Cooking Class Fundraiser with Chef Ana Patuleia Ortins on June 9, 2021, at 6 p.m., to raise funds to support all MAPS programs. In this 1-hour Zoom class, chef Ana Patuleia Ortins will teach participants how to make a delicious Portuguese Shrimp Curry (Caril de Camarão) accompanied by rice, as well as a Chocolate Salami (Salame de Chocolate) for dessert. Participants will cook alongside the chef and will be able to ask questions in real-time. They will also have a chance to win a unique apron, a copy of Ortins’ Portuguese Home Cooking Cookbook, and a personalized cooking class with the Portuguese-American chef for up to 4 people later this year. ....
Shares European plant-based burger concept Flower Burger has launched its first North American location in Culver City, CA. The delivery-only ghost kitchen offers six plant-based burgers all presented on vibrant and colorful burger buns such as the Jungle Burger on a green bun colored with spirulina powder and turmeric; the Classic Chickpea and Spicy Chickpea with turmeric-colored yellow buns; the Cherry Bomb with a pink bun colored with cherry and beet extract; and the signature Flower Burger with a violet bun colored with purple carrot extract. Flower Burger also offers house-made vegan cheese, mayonnaise, and other condiments, along with sides such as potato wedges, edamame, or Patatas Buenas drizzled with Flower mayo and spicy ketchup. Flower Burger Flower Burger was founded by Italian entrepreneur Matteo Toto, who identified a gap in the market and sought to offer a more sustainable, plant-based option within the burger space. Flower Burger, a plant-based eatery in Italy, will make its North American debut on May 6, bringing its Instagrammable, colorful burgers to Los Angeles. The vegan-friendly, international concept will launch as a delivery-only ghost kitchen out of Culver City to start, with plans to open their first storefront this summer in West Hollywood. In small bowl, whisk together milk, alcohol, and instant coffee crystals until crystals dissolve. Set aside.
