Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser is launching Louisiana s National Travel and Tourism week by celebrating the first marker on the Louisiana Civil Rights Trail.
The ceremony unveiling the marker at Dooky Chase s Restaurant in New Orleans was held Monday afternoon. The Louisiana Civil Rights Trail has been a three-year Office of Tourism project.
This week, Nungesser plans to travel the state this week to highlight successes and get more ideas about how to bring more visitors to Louisiana and keep residents dollars here.
His office is gearing up for a home for the holidays campaign designed to get more people to come back for Thanksgiving and Christmas and shop at local stores and give the economy a shot in the arm ....

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Sulphur man is honored as a 2021 âChampion of Serviceâ by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser. Since retiring in 2016, Tommy Little has volunteered with at least 11 different organizations in Southwest Louisiana.
âWhenever you pull up with food or something for people who have nothing and you see the smiles on their face,â said Little. âTheyâre truly thankful because youâre helping them.â
You donât have to tell the folks at the Sulphur Senior Center that Little is a âChampion of Service.â ....
