Joanie was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on May 11, 1933. She was the only child of Leo Vincent and Helen Leona Brezell Harrington. Her father, Leo was one of eight Harrington siblings from Warren, Pa., including two of his brothers: John and Paul.
She graduated from Jamestown High School, Class of 1951. During her time in high school, she was the secretary of the JHS Junior Cabinet and president of the Theta Gamma Sorority. Following high school, she was a part of the second graduating class from Jamestown Community College in 1953. Upon graduation, she worked as the secretary for Dr. Carlyle C. Ring who was the Superintendent of Jamestown Public Schools. ....

Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care has received a $50,000 contribution from KeyBank, in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, to its Our House Campaign to build a hospice residence in Chautauqua County.
The hospice residence, which will be located adjacent to the Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care administrative offices on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood, is expected to be operational in 2021. Each year it will provide more than 200 individuals who lack a caregiver, have complex medical conditions or can’t remain at home with a peaceful, dignified resting place in their final days. ....

Karen Dohne Cotten passed away at 11:55 p.m. on April 27, 2021, peace-fully at home, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Syracuse to the late Raymond and Virginia (Gulgusky) Dohne.
Karen graduated from Liverpool High School in 1962 and from SUNY Brockport in 1966. She then began her teaching career at Falconer Central School, where she taught physical education and health for 35 years before retiring in 2005. While there, she touched numerous lives as a teacher, athletic director, coach, and friend. Her presence there remains strong as the tennis courts were named for her in 2007. After retiring, she continued to substitute teach for 15 years until becoming sick. She was so blessed to have many of her Falconer family with her until the end. ....

Sarah Jennie (Bellitto) Pollino, 92, of Jamestown, NY passed away on April 24, 2021, while a resident at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing.
Sarah has been a life-long resident of Jamestown since her birth on Nov. 3, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Sebastiana (Bessie) Bellitto.
Sarah is survived by her devoted son, Sam (Terri) of Corona, Calif.; and her cherished daughter, Julie (Joe) Indriolo, of Las Vegas, Nev. Sally’s pride and joy were her grandchildren by age: Amy (Robert) Adamiszyn, of Las Vegas, Nev., Katie (Anthony) Camblin of Fairport, N.Y., Lori Indriolo of Las Vegas, Nev., and Samantha Pollino and Nicolas Pollino, of Corona, Calif. Great- grandson, Zachary Adamiszyn of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kieran Camblin, of Fairport, N.Y.; and her dedicated and ever-present niece, Toni Ann Bellitto, of Jamestown, N.Y. Sally has always held a very close and loving relationship with all of her other nieces and nephews and their families. ....
