The disruption caused long lines at gas stations in the Southeast due to distribution problems and panic-buying, draining supplies at thousands of gas stations, such as the one above, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Pierce was a graduate of Liverpool High School, where he was a member of the marching band and swim team; and Binghamton University. He met his wife of 39 years, Marie Vasek, in an English class, his obituary states. For 32 years, Pierce was the mailroom manager for The Post-Standard in Syracuse. In his spare time, he was a student, and occasional instructor, at CNY Karate and Kobudo Schools. Pierce held a fourth degree black belt. His obituary states that he wished to be cremated in his best karate uniform (he was.) ....
May 12, 2021 McDONALD Daniel T. Morgan, 71, of McDonald, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, in his home, after a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer. He was born Nov. 4, 1949, in East Liverpool, the son of John E. and June P. Schmelzenbach Morgan. He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1967 and was a 1975 graduate of the Youngstown State University Dana School of Music, where he was a member of both the marching band and jazz band. Dan was a guitarist from the time he was 14 and played in bands for more than 40 years. He was a guitar teacher and piano tuner. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a mail carrier and later worked in building maintenance, retiring in 2015. ....
