People from Manjeshwara, Uppala and other border areas of Kasaragod district in Kerala, stage a protest against Karnataka s Covid-19 restrictions, by blocking the national highway at Talapady on Tuesday.
MANGALURU: Inter-state restrictions on the Karnataka-Kerala border checkposts in Dakshina Kannada district will continue, till the test positivity rate of Covid-19 in Kerala reduces considerably, said ADGP (law & order) C H Pratap Reddy.
Reddy, who visited the inter-state borders at Talapady and Salethur on Tuesday, said commuters from Kerala, who are visiting Dakshina Kannada, should compulsorily show RT-PCR negative certificate at the border checkposts. However, he said, there will be no restrictions for those who are visiting Dakshina Kannada for emergencies and students writing exams will be allowed to enter with their hall tickets or identity cards. ....

People coming to Dharwad from Kerala, Maharashtra to undergo Covid test | Mangaluru News

People seem to be ignoring the threat of Covid as is evident by the recent political congregations in Hubballi wherein people threw social distancing to the wind.
DHARWAD/MANGALURU: Following a steady rise in positive cases in neighbouring Maharashtra and Kerala, the Dharwad district administration has ordered for compulsory testing for those arriving from the two states.
An order to this effect was issued by deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil on Tuesday. The order reads passengers from Kerala and Maharashtra must show an RT-PCR negative report on their entry into the district. This report should not be more than 72 hours older irrespective of vaccination status. ....

Indian Community Support Group in Kuwait sends 252.8 tons of liquid medical oxygen to Mangaluru

The Indian Community Support Group (ICSG), Kuwait has gifted 252.8 tons of liquid medical oxygen to the Indian Red Cross Society to support its health care activities for the patients infected with COVID-19.
The ship, INS Shardul, carrying the consignment arrived at the New Mangalore Port at about 7 a.m. on May 25.
It had 11 liquid oxygen tankers, two semi-trailers with liquid oxygen, and 1,200 oxygen cylinders, a statement from Dakshina Kannada unit of the society said.
The ICSG has sent the consignment as a goodwill guesture to meet the urgent and immediate needs of oxygen shortage due to the surge in coronavirus cases in the country. ....
