An alleged drink-driver caught a taxi after getting her car stuck down a dead-end street in Dunedin yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said when police located the 64-year-old woman about 6.40pm she recorded an excess breath alcohol level of 810mcg.
The woman got lost and drove her car down Belford St, Waverley, which is a dead end, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.

Murder of investigative journalist: Suspect pleads guilty

Vincent Muscat, one of the three men who were accused of assassinating investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in 2017 in Malta was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty.
Muscat admitted involvement in the car bombing that killed the reporter, which many believes to be ordered by top Malta establishment figures.
Known as the one-woman Wikileaks , Galizia uncovered networks of corruption in the country and abroad.
In a dramatic turn of events, Muscat changed his plea and agreed to provide information about the murder. He must also pay €42,000 ($51,000; £36,300) in court expenses.
The other two defendants brothers George and Alfred Degiorgio who were present in the courtroom did not speak. ....
