How healthcare players can tap into the emerging digital health ecosystem in Asia

A new report by global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company delves into Asia's rising consumer-centric digital health ecosystems and its emerging players. It ultimately advises healthcare players, both incumbents and new, to define their future roles in orchestrating or participating in those health ecosystems.
FINDINGS
Emerging consumer-centric digital health ecosystems in Asia deliver care by combining three critical components: a network of healthcare service providers across care settings; a smart system leveraging behavioural, social, and health data; and a technology backbone enabling data and insights to flow between care providers.
These ecosystems are not entirely digital as they both integrate digital and physical health services. They are not run by a single entity as these ecosystems typically consist of a "central orchestrator anchored around a few self-built business models".

It may sound like a certain online dating app, which begs the question: Is Singapore ready to swipe right on another new plant-based protein?
TiNDLE Thy – an alternative to chicken thighs – comprises only nine ingredients. It's also non-GMO and all made of plants.

CNA Lifestyle took a bite out of local start-up Next Gen Foods’ new protein product, which will be available in 11 restaurants from Mar 18, including Three Buns, The Goodburger and The Prive Group.
The core ingredients are water, soy, sunflower oil and coconut fat. According to its makers, it’s also “antibiotic- and hormone-free” and has been certified by Singapore’s Health Promotion Board as a Healthier Choice option, with less saturated fat and sodium than other plant-based alternatives in the market.

Thy not? Next Gen plucks for Singapore as it launches global plant-based chicken brand

Thy not? Next Gen plucks for Singapore as it launches global plant-based chicken brand
Plant-based food tech start up Next Gen is making its global debut by launching its consumer brand TiNDLE in Singapore this March.
The first product to be launched is TiNDLE Thy, a plant-based chicken thigh product which will be distributed by Classic Fine Foods, and rolled out initially in food service, with retail in the pipeline.
The launch of the consumer brand comes after Singapore headquartered Next Gen closed a US$10 million seed round, more than its initial US$7 million target, following an earlier founder capitalisation of US$2.2 million.

Plant-based food startup Next Gen lands $10M seed round from investors including Temasek – TechCrunch

Plant-based food startup Next Gen lands $10M seed round from investors including Temasek
Singapore is quickly turning into a hub for food-tech startups, partly because of government initiatives supporting the development of meat alternatives. One of the newest entrants is Next Gen, which will launch its plant-based “chicken” brand, called TiNDLE, in Singaporean restaurants next month. The company announced today that it has raised $10 million in seed funding from investors including Temasek, K3 Ventures, EDB New Ventures (an investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board), NX-Food, FEBE Ventures and Blue Horizon.
Next Gen claims this is the largest seed round ever raised by a plant-based food tech company, based on data from PitchBook. This is the first time the startup has taken external investment, and the funding exceeded its original target of $7 million. Next Gen was launched last October by Timo Recker and Andre Menezes, with $2.2 million of founder capital.
