(দিনাজপুর২৪.কম) সিরিজ নিশ্চিত হয়ে গেছে আগের ম্যাচেই। শেষ ম্যাচে তাই বেঞ্চের শক্তি পরখ করতে চেয়েছিল দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা। এই আয়ারল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে যে প্রোটিয়াদের বেঞ্চের শক্তিও যথেষ্ট, সেটাই যেন প্রমাণ করল সফরকারীরা। শেষ টি-টোয়েন্টিটাও জিতে নিয়েছে ৪৯ রানে। তাতে তিন ম্যাচের সিরিজে স্বাগতিক আয়ারল্যান্ডকে ৩-০ ব্যবধানে ধবলধোলাই করেই ছাড়ল ওয়ানডে সিরিজ ১-১ ড্র করা দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা।
শুরুর দিকে উইকেট ধরে রেখে যেন খানিকটা ওয়ানডে মেজাজে ব্যাট করাতেই মনোযোগ ছিল দুই উদ্বোধনী ব্যাটসম্যান টেম্বা বাভুমা ও রেজা হেনড্রিকসের। পাওয়ারপ্লেতে এল কেবল তিনটে চার। সপ্তম ওভারে ব্যারি ম্যাককার্থিকে ছক্কা মারলেও ইনিংসের মাঝপথের আগে আর খোলস ছেড়ে বেরোননি বাভুমা।
ইনিংসের ১১তম ওভারে সিমি সিংকে ছক্কা হাঁকালেন হেনড্রিকস। তখন থেকেই যেন আগুনের শুরু। এরপর বাউন্ডারি আর ওভার বাউন্ডারির ঝাঁপি খুলে বসল দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা। পরের পাঁচ ওভারে যোগ হলো ৬৪ রান। হেনড্রিকস ৫০ ছুঁয়ে ফেলেন ৩৯ বলে আর একই মাইলফলক ছুঁতে বাভুমার লাগে ৪১ বল। ষোড়শ ওভারে যখন সিমির বলে উইকেটের পেছনে ক্যাচ দিলেন হেনড্রিকস, তখন তার নামের পাশে যোগ হয়ে গেছে ৪৮ বলে ৬৯ রান। ১২৭ রানের উদ্বোধনী জুটি ভাঙার পর বেশিক্ষণ টিকতে পারেননি বাভুমাও। ৫১ বলে ৭২ রান তুলে শেষ হয় তার ইনিংস।
তবে আইরিশদের দুর্দশা তাতে যেন আরও বেড়েই গেল। এরপরের চার ওভারে যে রানটা চলে গেছে দুইশর কাছে! ১৭ বলে ৩৬ রানের কার্যকরী এক ক্যামিওতে কাজটা সারার মূল ভূমিকায় ছিলেন ডেভিড মিলার। তার এই ঝড়েই স্বাগতিকদের সামনে ১৯০ রানের বিশাল লক্ষ্য দাঁড় করায় দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা।
এরপরও আয়ারল্যান্ডের সুযোগ ছিল বৈকি! প্রোটিয়াদের প্রধান বোলাররাই যে এদিন ছিলেন বিশ্রামে। তবে সে সুযোগটা আইরিশরা নিতে পারল কই? রান তাড়ায় দ্বিতীয় ওভারেই হারায় কেভিন ও’ব্রায়েনকে। এরপর ঝড়ের আভাস দিলেও স্টার্লিং থেমে যান ১৮ রানে। অ্যান্ডি বালবার্নিও থামলেন ২৭ রানে।
টপ অর্ডারের এমন ব্যর্থতার পরে ১৯০ রান তাড়া করতে হলে স্বাগতিকদের করতে হতো অতিমানবীয় কিছু। সেটা তো হয়ইনি, উল্টো ৩৩ রানে ৫ উইকেট হারিয়ে ঘোর বিপদেই পড়ে গিয়েছিল আয়ারল্যান্ড। এরপর হোয়াইটওয়াশ এড়ানোর লক্ষ্য থেকে সরে লজ্জাজনক হার থেকে বাঁচতেই মনোযোগ দেয় দলটি। তাদের ইনিংস শেষ হয় ১৪০ রানে। তাতেই ৪৯ রানের বিশাল জয় আর সিরিজে ধবলধোলাই নিশ্চিত করে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা।
