ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam has said that the Pakistani Constitution gives minorities their due rights as opposed to India which treats its minorities as second-grade citizens.
While speaking to the Minority of Youth KPK under the KPK Government Exposure Program on Monday, the minister quoted Article 25A of the constitution of Pakistan and said that according to it, education is a fundamental right in Pakistan.
The minister pressed upon the need for quality education in Pakistan. He added that 20-25 million youth in Pakistan are dropouts before completing 10 years of education. ....

The U.S. criminal legal system has expanded at a rapid pace, even as crime rates have declined since the 1990s. As a result, individuals interactions with and surveillance by law enforcement are now commonplace. But citizens experience different interactions, with people of color who live in impoverished urban communities having the most frequent encounters. A new study interviewed young Philadelphia men to determine their perceptions of and reactions to this phenomenon. Nearly all of the men of color said they stayed at home and avoided public spaces out of concern over the potential interactions with others that might draw police attention. ....

In the last 20 years, Black adults living in rural areas of the United States experienced high mortality rates due to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke compared to white adults. According to a research letter published in the
Journal of the American College of Cardiology, racial disparities improved minimally in rural areas over the last two decades, with larger improvements occurring in urban areas.
While modest gains have been made in reducing racial health inequities in urban areas, large gaps in death rates between Black and white adults persist in rural areas, particularly for diabetes and hypertension. We haven t meaningfully narrowed the racial gap in outcomes for these conditions in rural areas over the last two decades, said Rishi Wadhera, MD, MPP, MPhil, cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and senior author of the study.
