Religiopolitical party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) recently took to the streets across the country in violent protests. Hundreds of police officials were injured and four killed during clashes with the rioters.
As a result of the protests, the federal government banned the TLP on April 15, under Section 11B (1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act 199, which requires the government to have reasonable grounds to place a ban.
Expressing that it does, the government stated that it has reasonable grounds to believe that the TLP, among other things, was engaged in terrorism; acted in a manner prejudicial to the peace and security of the country; caused grievous bodily harm, hurt and death to law enforcement personnel and innocent by-standers; threatene ....

More than halfway into his five-year term, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan reshuffled his cabinet for the sixth time on April 16. This was the second major reshuffle that changed the portfolios of six ministers. Earlier, a reshuffle had affected some nine portfolios in April 2019 – barely eight months after he had formed the government and inducted a 16-member cabinet of ministers on August 20, 2018.
Now, only eight ministers from the first cabinet retain the portfolios assigned in 2018. Most of the reshuffles involved just a change in the portfolio. Only two ministers – Amir Kayani and Dr Hafeez Shaikh – had to leave the cabinet. ....
