Libertarian Party forms new Mesa chapter


Last week, a group of local Libertarians created their own branch to the Colorado Libertarian Party.
“After the last several years of watching two major parties oppose each other just to oppose each other, without regard to the freedom of the American people, I decided to seek out a better option,” said Whitewater resident Josh Drews. “The Libertarian Party is the only one that actually believes that people should be free to make the right decisions for themselves.”
While Libertarians make up the third largest party in Mesa County and the state, their numbers are far lower compared to the Republican and Democratic parties. ....

It is wise to contrast Persad s position with a statement of Professor Brian Copeland, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies, at its 2020 graduation: As graduates of The UWI, you are beneficiaries of a public spending that covered some 80 per cent of what it costs to educate you….[You must] use your experience not just to develop yourself in your chosen careers but, even as you do so, that you do all you can to continue the fight of forming a society that better addresses the problems we face today ....

Davenport House Museum develops new exhibit to recognize enslaved former residents

The Kennedy Pharmacy on Broughton Street will house the Davenport House gift shop and staff offices following the renovation.
The Davenport House Museum is a carefully restored landmark showcasing what life was like in Savannah 200 years ago – but the Davenports were not the only family living under this storied roof back then.
The Historic Savannah Foundation, which owns and operates the Davenport House Museum, launched an extensive renovation project in December to install a new exhibit that will recognize the enslaved people who lived and worked at the home.
As part of the process, HSF will also be renovating the adjacent Kennedy Pharmacy on Broughton Street while constructing an entirely new building for events and meetings, which will be designed to seamlessly blend in with its ve ....
