When lockdown lifted I took my Fab Four’ to the quiet shores of Loch Earn to experience a cabin hideaway at the Four Seasons Hotel. Its dinky chalets were home to The Beatles during the Scottish leg of their Autumn UK tour back in 1964 when the Liverpudlians shacked up in Chalet Number 1 and Number 6 on the steep banks of the scenic loch.
Owner, Susan Stuart, is happy to share tales of the hotel’s most prestigious guests. Late on Monday night, on October 19 1964, the rain fell heavily as Britain’s most famous musicians arrived at the Four Seasons in St Fillans, fresh from their gig at the ABC Cinema in Edinburgh. ....

A 95-year-old man just became the oldest organ donor in U.S. history

A woman who is recovering from a liver transplant not only has a new lifesaving organ, but one that made history.
That s thanks to Cecil Lockhart from Welch, West Virginia, who died at age 95 on May 4, making him the oldest organ donor in United States history, according the Center for Organ Recovery & Education, which co-ordinated the recovery of the liver.
The previous record for the oldest donor was a 93-year-old, according to press release from the United Network for Organ Sharing.
CORE is incredibly proud to have been able to make this historic organ donation possible, said CORE President & CEO Susan Stuart, in the release. This landmark in the field of transplantation is just another example of CORE s pioneering legacy and commitment to innovation, which, over the last 40 years, has given 6,000 people in the United States the opportunity to save more than 15,000 others as organ donors. ....

Cecil Lockhart, a 95-year-old, became the oldest organ donor in United States history after he died last week. Lockhart, of Welch, West Virginia died on May 4, and his liver was donated to a woman in her sixties, CBS Pittsburgh reports.
The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) President and CEO Susan Stuart said Monday that CORE is incredibly proud to have been able to make this historic organ donation possible. Cecil Lockhart leaves a remarkable legacy. The 95-year-old, who died on May 4 and gave his liver to a woman in her sixties, became the oldest organ donor in United States history, according to the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE).
Lockhart, who hailed from Welch, West Virginia, was a proud coal miner who worked in the mines for more than 50 years, said his family. He also served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II, according to KSBY6 News.
We are filled with pride and hope knowing that, even after a long, happy life, he is able to continue that legacy of generosity, Cecil s daughter, Sharon White, told CBS Pittsburg, who described her father as a very generous person. ....

Cecil s family said he was moved to become an organ donor following the death of his son, Stanley, in 2010, after which Stanley healed the lives of 75 people through tissue donation and restored sight to two others through cornea donation.
