NSA Trilateral Secretariat established at NHQ

Reaffirmed strongly with the necessity of the continuation of National Security Adviser (NSA)-level meeting between India, Sri Lanka and Maldives, a secretariat for trilateral National Security Advisers on Maritime Security Cooperation was formed under the auspices of Secretary of Defence, General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at the Navy Headquarters today (01st March 2021).
Based on an agreement reached at the 04th NSA -level trilateral meeting hosted in Colombo on 28th November 2020 with the attendance of defence chiefs of three participating countries, it was decided to establish a secretariat for the convenience of future conclaves.
Through NSA -level meetings, it is expected to pay concerns into the current maritime security environment in the region and discussed mutual cooperation in the areas of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, joint exercises and capacity building. MUMBAI: A day after chief minister Uddhav Thackeray asked the state administration to stagger working hours of state secretariat employees to ensure social distance without hampering routine work, the chief secretary issued an order, asking department secretaries to decide on the form of staggered timings at their convenience.
Chief secretary Sanjay Kumar issued an order asking all department secretaries to consider the staggered time schedule that could be either an alternate-day work, thrice a week, weekly shift or staggering working day hours.
Kumar’s order states that in the wake of rising number of Covid cases in Mumbai and the state and in order to facilitate adherence to social distancing norms and to ensure that crowding is avoided, staggered work hours may be initiated at the state secretariat. ....

Pakistan PM to meet President Rajapaksa

Bilateral talks between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa were held at Temple Trees yesterday.
Following the discussions, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the Governments of Sri Lanka and Pakistan and the Prime Ministers of the two countries issued a joint statement.
The Prime Minister said that the way in which the Prime Minister of Pakistan had been elevated to the top by empowering the people through his many years of political activism was remarkable.
The Prime Minister also stated that the measures taken to empower the grassroots and underprivileged people are intertwined with the policies of his government. Later, the two Prime Ministers held a joint press conference. ....
