Italgas S p A : raises dividend as 2020 core earnings rise

MILAN (Reuters) - Italgas will pay a fatter dividend after core earnings last year rose despite the health pandemic and a tougher regulatory framework for gas distribution.
Italy s biggest gas distributor said it would pay a dividend on 2020 results of 0.277 euros per share, up 8.2% on the year, as adjusted core earnings rose 7% to 971.4 million euros ($1.16 billion).
Adjusted net profit for the year rose 3.5% to 364 million euros.

Barclays : to pay own $46 million legal bill in Staveley court case

LONDON (Reuters) - A judge ruled Barclays will have to pay its own 33 million pound ($46.09 million) legal bill despite winning a case against British businesswoman Amanda Staveley s PCP Capital Group over how the bank negotiated a financial lifeline during the credit crisis in 2008.
Judge David Waksman said on Thursday he made no order as to costs , meaning both sides will pay their own legal costs. PCP had been potentially liable for both sides expenses under England s loser pays laws.
Waksman in February had found Barclays guilty of serious deceit over the deal which offered Barclays a lifeline during the crisis, but denied Staveley damages and dismissed her claim. ....

Industria de Diseno Textil SA said Wednesday that sales and earnings fell in 2020, but that e-commerce grew sharply and it will pay a dividend for the year.
Sales at the Spanish retailer came to 20.40 billion euros ($24.28 billion) in 2020, down 28% from 2019. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were down 40% at EUR4.55 billion, while net income fell 70% to EUR1.11 billion.
The owner of Zara and other fashion brands said performance was affected by pandemic-related store closures, but that e-commerce sales boomed by 77% to reach EUR6.6 billion in the year. Online sales are expected to continue to grow strongly in 2021 and beyond, Inditex said. ....

Buy now and pay later (BNPL) has emerged as a viable credit option for e-commerce purchases in Asia-Pacific (APAC) as several payment companies are now offering this service, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
An analysis of GlobalData s E-Commerce Analytics reveals that the APAC e-commerce market is set to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17.6% from US$1.2 trillion in 2016 to US$3.6 trillion in 2023.
