TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Rep. Al Lawson (FL-05) recently introduced a bill to designate the United States Post Office at 2800 South Adams Street in Tallahassee, Florida as the “D. Edwina Stephens Post Office.”
Edwina Stephens, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 86, was a dedicated community activist, civil rights icon and registered nurse.
Stephens spent her life advocating for improvements in her community, especially in the historically neglected neighborhoods on Tallahassee’s Southside and in the Greater Bond community. ....

An Eastern Cape nurse has been suspended after he was arrested for sexual assault.
A woman, who accompanied a child to hospital, allegedly fell victim to the nurse at Holy Cross Hospital in Flagstaff last week Thursday.
The provincial health department has since ​launched an investigation into the matter.
On Wednesday, Eastern Cape health MEC Nomakhosazana Meth condemned the incident.
“It is alleged that a male nurse accosted a woman who was escorting her child to Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital for specialist care when he allegedly took her to a consulting room where the alleged sexual assault occurred,” said Meth. ....

DETROIT – It was almost exactly a year ago when a wave of COVID patients was starting to overwhelm hospitals.
A Metro Detroit nurse took a video inside Sinai Grace Hospital and spoke about the need for more supplies.
Local 4 Defender Shawn Ley spoke with Kenisa Barkai. She said she has found new ways to help in the fight against COVID-19.
Last year, Barkai said that she was drawing attention to the hospital and trying to make it clear that they needed more PPE and beds for what she foresaw as a wave of COVID patients that were about to hit. The hospital said that the cellphone video violated hospital policy and Barkai was fired. ....

I m not really sure what the end game was going to be, but the nurse was pilfering the vaccine from a distribution site in Detroit.
ClickOnDetroit reports that the nurse was working at the mass vaccination site at the TCF Convention Center in downtown Detroit. She was investigated after another nurse working the site saw her pocket two vials. The nurse was employed by an independent contractor.
“Our vaccines are stored in a secured location,” Detroit Chief Operating Officer Hakim Berry told ClickOnDetroit. “Even when we deliver they are with a security guard. We account for every syringe that we give out.” ....

The COVID-19 pandemic has exhausted health care professionals around the globe with long hours and an overwhelming number of patients in hospitals and intensive care units. Burrell Behavioral Health s Chief Medical Officer explained how her own mental health was worsened by the ongoing health crisis. 
Health care workers have had a parallel pandemic going on with the mental health crisis, Dr. Garima Singh said. We ve been through phases of emotions starting with fear, nervousness and denial of not knowing what s going to happen to feelings of exhaustion and being overwhelmed.   ....
