office. that shows how coordinated this is. it's not just him. there was a law firm here in new york city known as a democrat law firm that handed over a few of its attorneys to help bring charges against donald trump. this is part of a widespread and coordinated effort. everyone knows it. it's really interesting to see this man out there today. look at how so many republicans can't even handle a minute of negative coverage from the me media. this guy has people attempting to bankrupt him. you have actual house members trying to remove secret service protection from him. he knows that if he were to be no threat to the regime, it would all gone away and every day he gets out there and keeps making his case. that does a lot to explain why you so beloved beloved by so many americans. >> joey: i want to go back to what you said about he is on message. if you accept the premise, what is happening in georgia, the lawsuits in new york and this trial are politically motivated. they are geared toward helping

pass individually. but when you package it together, there are so many different house members that dislike different portions that it might not be able to pass all together. so by separating them to separate those for example, there are some hard-right republicans who been very opposed to funding for ukraine. well, they don't have to vote for the ukraine portion, but some of those same hard right republicans might vote yes. on the money for israel but there are some far left democrats who might not vote for the money for israel. now, they don't have to vote for that part. so they're going to take get in pieces and get it over to the senate. but when it gets to the senate, it will be kind of combined back into one big package we think. >> and of course, the big question hanging over johnson's head is, well, you know, he's trying to hold onto his political survival and it's not clear what's going to happen next, but it's it's really incredible to see just how dysfunctional the house

there are serious house members that will be running into some very important races that don't have anything they can run on and that will be a devastating contrast for them come november. >> devastating for the patootie's. >> yes on a saturday morning. >> what we know about israel's counterstrike against iran and what both countries are saying about it. you are watching "the weekend." ts with no odor and no mess. they work continuously, so you don't have to. zevo. people-friendly. bug-deadly. have very important races coming up for house members this fall. i think smart analysis is showing that the democrats are very well primed to take back the leadership of the house. the senate is a little bit more of a play there and it may be difficult. you do have the momentum. you have the opportunity. how do you see the various issues out there coalescing around what his second term for joe biden will look like, particularly given some of the dissension that still exists among many americans, particularly the democratic party, the progressive left, around gaza for example, or student loan debt? how do you paint the broader picture? that is what republicans are doing. they are painting the broad picture. they are not dealing with specifics but they are talking more broadly about how bad things are.

johnson and his job i spoke with thomas massie, one of the three that signed on to this effort to oust the speaker and he said he does not want to see a public motion to vacate these vote on the floor because of the issue you brought up, which is the fact that democrats would more than likely support hakeem jeffries which would not bode well for republicans so close to an election. what he wants to see happen is that johnson resigned on his own. like what john weiner did years ago -- john boehner did years ago. these are just three house members who support speaker johnson pushing this effort, we will see if they do anything today, later this afternoon, i anticipate other procedural gimmicks, trying to adjourn the house before they get to these bills which would not be

tiktok bill, what is expected to happen there? when will that go down? >> so that will be one of the votes in the series today. so far it seems like it could happen either first or last. a lot of things are changing. it is not clear here. it is really fluid here. the vote was moved up for an half hour earlier. house members want to get out of town because it is eating into the recess and passover break but the tiktok bill is super important. i can't remember when congress has played such a heavy hand in a social media company albe it this one is owned by a chinese company. there is bipartisan support including from president biden who said he would sign all of it to get this done. >> which is one reason we will have on our former cia analyst alyssa slotcon to talk about this and see her take on this. julie tsirkin, thank you for rolling with it. excellent job as always.

this rule over the finish line. this is the last procedural hurdle before house members will be able to actually vote on those four distinct bills that include aid, as you mentioned, to ukraine and to israel, but there was a really stunning moment last night that even preceded what we're seeing today on the house floor, which is that the rules committee, which typically would function that the majority party -- in this case republicans -- would all vote together to get their party's legislation onto the house floor. instead, you had three republican hard line conservatives who said they would not vote for this foreign aid package to hit the house floor. they bucked the speaker and their own party on that. all four democrats on that committee came together and helped to get this rule out of their committee and onto the house floor for the vote that you're seeing happen right in front of you right now. it might seem small, it might seem arcane, but that's pretty rare and striking. >> it's left speaker mike
