Residential and commercial development in and around Boulder Junction. If or when a commuter train ever comes to Boulder and Longmont, this would be the Boulder stop.
The Regional Transportation District will restart planning of its long-delayed commuter rail line between Denver, Boulder and Longmont, with a focus on a bare-bones version that could get rolling sooner.
The agency’s board of directors on Tuesday signaled its support for new environmental and engineering work that will likely take 18 to 24 months and cost $5 million to $8 million. The board is expected to give its formal approval this summer. The planning work is meant to capitalize on the possibility that RTD could receive federal funding through President Joe Biden’s recent infrastructure proposal. ....

BOULDER, Colo. Elected officials in the Boulder region have grumbled ever since the Regional Transportation District (RTD) delayed its rail line from Denver to Longmont.
RTD promised the line in 2004 as part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, but rising costs have delayed the project by decades. The agency s staff leaders and elected board have pledged the line will be built when the agency can afford it probably sometime around 2050. ....

In Pueblo, A Small But Vital Bus System Keeps Rolling As Others Stall

Jesse Espinoza, left, has dreams of getting into the entertainment business. On Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, he was riding Pueblo Transit to a plasma center.
The route 11 bus was not exactly where Jesse Espinoza wanted to be on a recent morning. He had lost his job as a warehouse packer the day before and was on his way to sell plasma.
But he was grateful he had a way to get there.
“I really don’t have anyone to help me out,” the 21-year-old Pueblo native said as the bus rattled through the city’s southwest neighborhoods. “The bus is my only source of transportation right now. I could take a taxi or something, but when I’m broke the bus is really it.” ....
