Students will have to take more science and foreign-language classes after changes made to state graduation requirements, leaving some school districts worried about having the faculty to meet the demand.
The requirements were included as part of House Bill 2170, which was introduced by Sen. Kimberly Lightford, D-Maywood, during the legislature’s lame-duck session last month.
The bill adds two years of foreign language classes and two years of laboratory science classes instead of just science courses. ....
