Has Congress gone back to the Ray and Salwa Judum models

Forests bathed in blood
Has Congress gone back to the Ray and Salwa Judum models?
After the recent Maoist attack on security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, in which 22
jawans were killed, Sonia Gandhi paid homage to the martyrs and Rahul Gandhi alleged it to be a “poorly designed and incompetently executed operation”. Law and order is a state subject. Central forces deployed in a state work under the command of the state government. Or is that not the case in Chhattisgarh? If it was indeed a “poorly designed and incompetently executed” operation, we need some more answers from the ‘high command’.

Synopsis
“We were the first one to raise questions on the farm bills and we don’t want to repeal these laws as other farmer organisations are demanding. We had suggested four amendments to the laws to the government,” BKS general secretary Badri Narayan Choudhary told ET. “During talks with farmers, the government has shown willingness to fulfil two of our demands. However, the government hasn’t said anything on the MSP (minimum support price).”

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), the RSS-affiliated farmer union has decided to launch a ‘Jan Jagran’ programme across 50,000 villages in the country from January 26 to “spread awareness” among the people regarding the three farm laws that protestors want the government to repeal. The BKS, which is not part of the protests, is not in favour of repeal of the laws but wants the government to make some amendments to the laws.
