ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, will now be a Historic Park.
U.S. Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler helped secure unanimous Senate passage of the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park Redesignation Act.
The bill was originally introduced in the Senate and House by Senator Perdue and Congressman Sanford Bishop, and is sponsored by the Georgia congressional delegation.
Having now passed both the Senate and House, the bill heads to President Trump for his signature.
“No matter where life has taken me, from the Governor’s mansion to the White House, Plains has always been my home,” said President Carter. “Rosalynn joins me in thanking Senator Perdue, Congressman Bishop, and the Georgia delegation for helping preserve my family’s legacy.” ....

ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) — By unanimous vote, U.S. Senators passed the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park Redesignation Act, a bill that re-designates the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, Georgia, as the “Jimmy Carter National Historical Park.
This bill was originally introduced in the Senate and House by Senator Perdue and Congressman Sanford Bishop (D-GA-02), respectively, and is sponsored by the entire Georgia congressional delegation.
