Juliette Anderson, known affectionately as âJulie,â was born in Sacramento, Calif., Feb. 21, 1945, the second of three children of Josephine âJoâ Dreiss Newton Anderson from Cameron, Texas, and William âBillâ Herbert Barclay Anderson from Greeley, Colo. At an early age, Juliette gained a love of the outdoors and a passion for dogs and horses. On the West Coast, Bill and Jo raised registered English cocker spaniels, along with three children, perpetually surrounded by puppies. Juliette learned English riding and jumping at the academy at the historical Patee Ranch in the heart of Steinbeck Country, Monterey County. When the family moved to Idaho, Julietteâs beloved mare, Dusty, followed in tow, joined by a pair of English cocker spaniels. ....

The total of this yearâs scholarship awards was $10,000 and this brings the 29 year distribution total to two hundred thirty scholarships paying out $265,650. This scholarship was established in October of 1991 and is given in the memory of Henry S. Kolakowski Jr. Henry Kolakowski served as an educator, administrator, counselor and student advocate in the communities of Meriden and Wallingford for 34 years. He took personal pride in assisting as many students as he could, usually giving 110 percent to his job. Mr. Kolakowski started his educational career locally in 1957 where he worked as a history teacher at Meriden High School, which later became Platt High in 1958.
