We’ve always known that the left can dish it out, but they can’t take it – and the “Cuomo Watch” Twitter account hilariously made the point Thursday.
As many recall, then-White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was kicked out of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia in June 2018 by co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson – supposedly at the urging of restaurant staff – because said staff and Wilkinson believed Sanders worked for an “inhumane and unethical” administration. Dr. Neeta Jain, a psychologist and long-time resident of Flushing, is making a bid to fill the seat being vacated by former District 24 Neww York City Councilman Rory Lancman.
If she wins, she will be fill the remainder of Lancman’s term till the June 22, when the Democratic primaries are scheduled.
Lancman is leaving to take up his new assignment in Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration as special counsel for ratepayer protection.
The special election where Jain is a candidate is scheduled to take place Feb. 2. Jain is the second Indian American to declare a run for the New York City Council, the other being political activist and community leader Harpreet Singh Toor who is seeking the Democratic Party nomination from District 23 in Eastern Queens. The primary for that is scheduled for June. 22. ....

Her City Council district, where 20 candidates vie to succeed term-limited Jimmy Van Bramer, has seen
voter registration soar, with 22% more Democrats and 18% more total voters eligible to vote in this June’s primary than the last citywide Council election in 2017. ....

What the 2021 class of state lawmakers is bringing to

Democrats can claim many firsts among the newly elected members of the state Legislature. Jabari Brisport of Brooklyn is the first openly gay Black man elected to the state Senate. Zohran Mamdani and Jenifer Rajkumar, both of Queens, are the first South Asian Americans elected to the Assembly. Fellow freshman Khaleel Anderson of Queens, 24, is the first member of Generation Z to serve in either chamber.
Two other Democratic firsts also loom large following the 2020 elections. State Sen. Samra Brouk of Rochester, who now holds the seat vacated by retiring GOP state Sen. Rich Funke, is the first Black female state senator elected upstate. Voters in an adjoining district chose state Sen. Jeremy Cooney, who now holds the seat formerly occupied by retiring GOP state Sen. Joseph Robach, as the first Asian American state senator from north of New York City.  ....
