Jury hands down 99-year sentence for 'mother load' of meth

A Parker County jury Wednesday sentenced an Abilene woman to 99 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for possession of what she described in text messages as the âmother loadâ of a quarter pound of methamphetamine.
A Weatherford Police Department officer stopped a vehicle driven by Aubry Nicole Clevenger, 38, as she headed west on Fort Worth Highway in May, 2020, at 3:45 a.m., after he found that she had a warrant for her arrest. After she consented to a search of her car, the deputy located 110 grams of methamphetamine and $7,250 in cash.
Clevenger pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver charges on Monday and elected to have a jury assess her punishment. ....

Two methamphetamine distribution convictions and 99-year prison sentences a Parker County jury gave to a Springtown man in December, 2019 were upheld on appeal in a ruling rendered Thursday.
Donald Wayne Walker, 50, was convicted of delivering methamphetamine to an informant on two occasions. Audio and video recordings of the transactions were played for the jury during the trial.
âThe biggest factors that led to Mr. Walkerâs lengthy sentence were his extensive criminal record and the fact that these were drug dealing offenses,â said District Attorney Jeff Swain, who tried the case for the prosecution along with Assistant District Attorney Travis Warner. âHe had eight prior felony convictions, 52 years of prior prison sentences, and was on parole for a 20 year sentence at the time of our trial.
