Incidents targeting Jews in Colorado reached second-highest level in the last 10 years, according to annual ADL report
Denver, CO, April 27, 2021 … Antisemitic incidents remained at a historically high level across the United States in 2020, with a total of 2,024 incidents of assault, harassment and vandalism reported to ADL (the Anti-Defamation League). While antisemitic incidents declined by 4 percent nationwide after hitting an all-time high in 2019, last year was still the third-highest year for incidents against American Jews since ADL started tracking such data in 1979.
ADL’s annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents, released today, showed little change in Colorado compared to 2019. There were 60 reported incidents in 2020 compared to 61 in 2019. 2019 and 2020 had the two highest levels of antisemitic incidents in the past 10 years in Colorado.   ....

How Healers Became Killers, Nazi Medical Professionals

The Holocaust Memorial Center Zekelman Family
Campus is hosting How Healers Became Killers, Nazi Medical Professionals, to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Wednesday, January 27. The program also is the opening event of the new featured exhibit, Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race, which opens January 17 and is slated to run until July 11, 2021.
“We are proud to host this thought-provoking exhibit and opening program which scrutinizes the complicity medical professionals had in the Holocaust,” said Holocaust Memorial Center CEO Rabbi Eli Mayerfeld. “The most important lesson we teach is that history is made through a
series of choices and that every choice has a consequence. By teaching the lessons of the Holocaust, our fervent hope is that each of us will be upstanders, not bystanders, when we witness wrongful actions.” ....

RespectAbility Launches Jewish Disability Speakers Bureau

RespectAbility Launches Jewish Disability Speakers Bureau
Erin is the Digital Content Manager at the Jewish Journal. She also covers Jewish art, entertainment and culture.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 4 adults has a physical, sensory, cognitive or mental health disability. Yet, in a 2018 survey, disability awareness and education non-profit RespectAbility determined that fewer than 15 percent of people could name a single Jewish leader with a disability.
This is why on Dec. 21, RespectAbility announced the launch of the Jewish Disability Speakers Bureau. Speakers include Jewish lawyers, entrepreneurs, teachers, rabbis, filmmakers and comedians. The bureau is available to speak virtually at Jewish conferences, synagogues and organizations to allow people with disabilities the opportunity to share their perspectives with the community. ....
