Google-owned YouTube on Tuesday confirmed it extended a ban on new video being added to US President
Donald Trump s channel due to the potential for inciting violence.
The weeklong suspension of uploading or streaming live video to Trump s channel had been set to lift on the eve of President-elect
Joe Biden taking the oath of office.
In light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, the Donald J. Trump channel will be prevented from uploading new videos or livestreams for an additional minimum of seven days, YouTube said in response to an AFP inquiry. ....

New Delhi: YouTube is suspending US President Donald Trump s channel for at least one week, and potentially longer, after his channel earned a strike under the platform s policies, the company said Tuesday evening.
A recent video on Trump s channel had incited violence, YouTube told CNN and the video has now been removed. However, YouTube declined to share details of the video that earned Trump the strike , but said that after the one-week timeout, it will revisit the decision. ....

YouTube has removed new videos that US President Donald Trump has posted on his channel for violating its policies. It has also temporarily prevented any fresh content uploads from the channel. The video-sharing app has said the content has been removed in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence.
The move comes in the wake of the unprecedented storming of the US Capitol by Trump s supporters recently and thus disrupting the constitutional process of counting and certification of the Electoral College votes of the presidential elections. Four people, including a woman, died in the clashes between protesters and police. ....
