USM to Award Honorary Degree to Hattiesburg Leader Lawrence Warren

A respected business leader and champion of economic development who is also a longtime supporter of The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will be the recipient of special recognition from the University.
Lawrence W. Warren, president and CEO of Warren Paving, Inc., of Hattiesburg and Gulfport and Slats Lucas Quarry of Kentucky, will be awarded an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, by USM at a private family event later this year.

AICP has announced the lineup for the 2021 AICP Awards Committee, the far-reaching group of industry veterans and experts tasked with promoting and marketing the 2021 AICP Awards, which comprises the AICP Show, the AICP Post Awards and the AICP Next Awards. Last week, I learned that
David M. Tilbrook has died, which made me sad.
I did not know him personally and cannot say much about his life,
but I studied his publications and software ideas a lot, and consider
them interesting, especially from a historic perspective.
Unfortunately, most of these things are on websites taken down already,
so this post will refer to pages on the Internet Archive extensively.
