Update Regarding the Search for Aiden Blanchard (photos) Chicopee Police and the Massachusetts State Police continue to search for Aiden Blanchard, the 11-year-old boy who went missing last Friday. A flight crew from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing Thursday (Feb. 11) conducted an aerial search of the Connecticut River and its banks from the Massachusetts Turnpike down to the Connecticut state line, seeking any evidence related to Aiden s disappearance. The flight crew did not locate any evidence related to Aiden’s disappearance. The crew observed vast areas of ice covering parts of the river, including south of where Route 91 crosses the river down to Memorial Bridge in Springfield, and again further south north of Six Flags in Agawam.

Authorities on Thursday continued to search for 11-year-old Aiden Blanchard, a Chicopee boy who went missing in that city last Friday while walking near the Connecticut River, State Police said.

(WFIE) - Police say shots were fired in the 800 block of Adams Avenue Tuesday. It happened around 8:30 p.m. Police say one of the victims told them he and the other victim, a juvenile, were walking on the sidewalk when a red car pulled up next to them. After a brief conversation, both victims started to walk away when they heard gunfire coming from the vehicle. Although neither victim was hit, bullet holes were found in a house in the 800 block of Adams.
Officers used drones to search the site after reports of a break-in on Saturday night. The coal-fired power station in Cuerdley was closed back in March after nearly 50 years in operation. It is expected that a demolition job will begin after decommissioning, which could take up to two years. Several intruders had previously gained unauthorised access to the site in recent weeks, leading to police stepping up patrols and working with onsite security to try to reduce cases of unauthorised access. Police are investigating the latest break-in. An overnight statement from Warrington Police said: This evening officers from A Block have attended a report of intruders on site at Fiddlers Ferry Power Station.
