CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â A staple of the Buc Days Parade youâre guaranteed to see are the people in their traditional white jumpsuits. We know them as Bucaraders. They re the volunteers that help put the parade together.
âThis started years ago when the parades werenât starting on time, Turner Moller said, a Bucrader in his 51st year. And the powers that be at the Buc Commission decided that we needed a separate organization to put on the parades.â
Moller and Wayne Pearson are long time volunteers with the duty of keeping the public safe and ensuring family fun during the parade. ....

ANNA, Ill. (KFVS) - Dozens of littered trash bags were collected off along the streets in Anna today.
About a dozen people came out for their Clean Up Day to help clean up the streets along high traffic areas.
One volunteer we talked with said she hopes the public takes away from to clean up their own trash and pick up litter of others.
“Everybody can do their part any day of the week,” Kathy Bryan said. “If you see some trash or you see a problem like that, just take care of it. Don’t worry how it got there, who’s it is, don’t point fingers, just go ahead and take care of it and if we all do these small things we’ll have a great community.” ....

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - In an effort to clean Oahu coastlines, parks and beaches, multiple cleanup events were hosted across the island Saturday to protect the environment.
Members of the Hawaii Bicycling League joined other community members and state officials to clean up the Pearl Harbor Bike Path.
Hundreds of volunteers picked up trash and hauled it away from the area.
The trail is the islandâs longest multi-use path, spanning more than five miles from Aiea State Park to Waipahu Depot Street. ....

WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WKBW) â This weekend, fire departments from around the state are opening their doors to show off what they do on any given day.
It s called Recruit NY Weekend. It s an effort to convince more people to become volunteer firefighters.
According to the Recruit NY, over the past couple of years, calls to fire departments have been increasing, while the number of volunteers decreases.
We are at an all time low, just like everyone else in the area. So, we re hoping men, women, anyone else over the age of 18 that has a desire, will come out check it out and fill out an application. The second part is community relations. Open up the door to the firetrucks, letting the kids seem them and see what we re all about, explained Josh Myers, the chief with Seneca Hose Co. 1 in West Seneca. ....
