AXON emerges on fixed access scene with $27M in funding

There s a new kid on the fixed and mobile access network block AXON Networks, a former Greenwave Systems business unit, officially launched today with $27 million in funding.
Rick Clemmer, former CEO of NXP Semiconductors, will be executive chairman of AXON s board and is also one of the key investors AXON remains mum about the identity of additional investors contributing $27 million to the company.
AXON Networks says it delivers an AI-driven, analytics-based orchestration platform, the AXON AnyNet Orchestrator, in addition to high-speed routers utilizing the latest Wi-Fi technologies. CEO Martin Manniche, formerly founder and CEO of Greenwave Systems and CTO of Cisco s Linksys Consumer Business Group, says the AXON Orchestrator brings together fixed and mobile networks under a single virtual environment. What began as a labor dispute between white and Chinese coal miners on September 2, 1885 turned into a bloodbath known as the Rock Springs Massacre that left 28 Chinese miners dead and 15 others wounded. Following the violence, white miners set 79 homes ablaze, effectively wiping out the Chinatown neighborhood of Rock Springs in what was then the Wyoming Territory.
Perpetrators of the violence against the Chinese immigrant community faced little to no consequences for the massacre. And anti-immigrant and anti-Chinese sentiment followed the Chinese immigrant community as they moved from the American West to other parts of the country. ....

Telecom Italia (TIM) is congratulating itself on completing its fiber rollout in the north-east Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, using a mix of FTTC, FTTH, FWA and satellite technologies. Those households and businesses connected to FTTH will enjoy downlink speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s; up 200 Mbit/s must suffice for those on FTTC. Across the country, says the operator, TIM s fiber network is now available to 92% of those households that use the fixed network. Earlier this month TIM announced the completion of shareholder agreements with KKR Infrastructure and Swisscom-owned Fastweb that, in theory at least, allow FiberCop, Italy s last-mile network grid, to commence operations.
