Pentagon Still Blocking Permit for Annual Veteran Gathering

Pentagon Still Blocking Permit for Annual Veteran Gathering
The Department of Defense is continuing to withhold a parking permit from the annual Memorial Day veteran motorcycle rally, according to Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.)
“The Biden Administration is the only thing stopping this Memorial Day tradition from happening,” Mast wrote on Twitter on May 3. “It’s sad that it is easier to cross the border illegally than it is to get a permit to pay our respects to our nation’s fallen heroes.”
The Pentagon had approved a permit for Rolling to Remember on March 11 but revoked it a week later citing an administrative error, according to a letter Mast send to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last month. At the time, nine local, state, and federal agencies had already approved Memorial Day permits. ....

Pentagon tries to cancel veterans group event in D.C. - bikers denied parking permit

Joe Biden tells us that he supports the U.S. military every chance he gets. He even ends his speeches by asking God to bless our troops. A very quiet Friday news drop puts that support into question. Why is Joe Biden trying to cancel the Rolling Thunder event in D.C. this year?
For the first time in its 32 year history, a parking permit needed to hold the patriotic biker event was revoked Friday though
it was approved in March. What kind of lame flip-flop is this? The Memorial Day weekend event, titled Rolling To Remember, serves to raise awareness for thousands of unaccounted-for POW/MIAs and for the veteran suicide crisis. The event is staged in Pentagon parking lots, with thousands of bikers participating every year. A parking permit is needed. ....

Defense officials have denied veterans advocates permission to stage their annual Memorial Day motorcycle rally at the Pentagon parking lot, saying the crowd size poses a potential public health threat given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The decision will force up to 10,000 participants already planning on attending the event to set up somewhere else in Washington for the weekend, complicating but not outright cancelling the annual tradition. ....
