Isn’t breathing the one thing we’re all naturally excellent at? Yet in the last year or so, particularly with the cruel nature of Covid-19 sending stress levels through the roof, “breath work” has become big talk among the harbingers of health and fitness. People are even writing entire books about it. It boosts your immune system, they say. It’ll help you sleep properly. Done right it can untie the knot in your stomach and reduce your simmering anxiety down to practically nothing. Now, the cynic in me would once have balked at this stuff.
