Dispose of unused prescription drugs at these Monroe dropbox locations

Residents with unused prescription drugs can dispose of them safely year-round at several permanent drop-off locations within the Twin Cities. 
These boxes have been set up by partnerships with different programs, such as Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, federal grants and law enforcement agencies. 
Attorney General Jeff Landry initiated one of the programs to fight back against the opioid crisis in 2017. 
We started getting involved when we started working on different aspects trying to take a holistic approach to combatting the opioid epidemic, Monica Taylor, outreach representative for the Louisiana Attorney General s Office, said. Their goal was to put one box in every parish and so we ve partnered with them and helped them place these boxes every since then.   ....

Attorney General Jeff Landry has joined Louisiana to a coalition of 47 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories in a $573 million settlement with McKinsey & Company – resolving investigations into the massive consulting firm’s role in working for opioid companies, helping those companies promote their drugs, and profiting from the opioid epidemic.
The settlement will be used to abate problems caused by opioids in the participating states. Louisiana will receive $6.9 million from the multistate settlement. This is the first multistate opioid settlement to substantially pay the states to address the epidemic. ....
