Taipa, which represents companies like Indus Towers, American Tower Corporation etc, said delay in implementation of National Digital Communications Policy 2018 will hit the government s goal to generate USD 1 trillion from digital services by 2025 and obstruct implementation of 5G rollout.

New Delhi [India], March 17 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Central government on a PIL seeking directions to mandatorily provide common utility duct or corridors for all public utilities in the construction plan of highways and other roadways to avoid duplication of civil works.
A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde while asking the government to reply on the plea said, We will see this. It s a good idea. Notice issued.
The plea filed by Haripriya Patel sought directions to the government to ensure that all public utility service providers mandatorily use the facilities and avoid unnecessary re-digging or trenching of roadways. ....

All stakeholders should come together to provide better connectivity solutions: Housing Secretary
Amendments should be made in guidelines to provide telecom connections to new buildings , similar to providing water and electricity connections. This was the view of different departments and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Speaking at a workshop organised by Broadband India Forum (BIF) on Friday, Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), said all stakeholders should come together to provide better connectivity solutions to households.
“The legacy is already there, we have to build from there.this is a consensus we have to make and with the support from the government, we can have a common guideline. We already have some building by-laws in our Ministry, in what needs to be done in new buildings, and we can further add ....
