State Fire Marshal: Deadly mobile home fire claims one person s life 2 months 3 weeks 5 days ago Monday, December 28 2020 Dec 28, 2020 December 28, 2020 6:02 AM December 28, 2020 in News Source: WBRZ Share: OUACHITA PARISH - According to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal (SFM), the second of two deadly fires that occurred during the weekend of December 26 killed one person Sunday morning. A report from the SFM says the deadly mobile home fire broke out in north Louisiana s community of Eros, shortly before 5:30 a.m. The Ouachita Parish Fire Department rushed to the scene of the blaze, which was in the 200 block of Lottie Lane, where they found a deceased individual inside of the mobile home. ....

BISBEE â In order to reduce the risk of fire here at the holidays and beyond, the Bisbee Fire Department is offering local residents with dangerous, inefficient electric heaters who may not have the money to replace them the opportunity to turn them in and get replacements. Firefighter/EMT Robert Cline, president of union Local 2146, said he had exchanged six electric heaters so far. The ones turned in were definitely a potential risk. âIn addition to being more efficient, new heaters feature a tipâover kill switch. If they are accidentally knocked over, a sensor shuts off the heater, greatly reducing the risk of fire,â Cline said. ....

At the Marlborough Post Office, 20 Florence St., Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant was joined by Recreation Director Chuck Thebado, Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Gogan and Postmaster Nick Tselekis to speak about holiday happenings and to remind children to submit their letters to Santa soon so he has enough time to respond before the Christmas holiday. Due to the pandemic, the city’s downtown tree lighting and festivities won’t be taking place, however, the Marlborough Fire Department has plans to chauffeur Santa Claus around the city this season. The Santa Run will take place between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. on the evenings of Dec. 19 and 20. Residents can follow Santa by downloading a free app called Glympse to track Santa’s real time. ....
