Over two years, 1,500 students across all 15 institutions in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, including at The University of New Mexico, will participate in a virtual exchange supported by the Initiative under Connected Classrooms.
“At the core of Connected Classrooms is a desire to forge meaningful, equitable partnerships between institutions in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States through virtual exchange. While the Stevens Initiative provides the support and framework to make virtual exchange sustained on their campuses, these new institutions – including their faculty, administrators, and students – are collectively championing this effort. They are the true leaders and we’re humbled to partner with them,” said Christine Shiau, Managing Director, the Stevens Initiative at the Aspen Institute. ....

Israel s Regional Cooperation Minister Ofir Akunis met with the designated ambassador and head of the Moroccan Embassy yesterday to discuss the results of normalising ties and advancing further cooperation with each other.
Akunis assured Abdel Rahim Al-Bayoud that he would work to promote joint ventures between the two countries and that Israeli citizens, many of whom are immigrants from Morocco or have Moroccan ancestry, are happy and excited about the relationship that is being forged. ....

Alma Terry Mynatt, 94, of Hixson, died on April 20, 2021. 
She spent her final years living in Garden Plaza of Cleveland, Tn., where she grew to love and appreciate the kindness and expertise of the staff.  Born in Knoxville, she was the daughter of the late Maynard and Viva Sharp Terry.  She was a 1944 graduate of Oneida High School.  She worked for the Tennessee Railroad for over four years. She received her degree from Tennessee Technological University and then moved to Chattanooga and was employed by E.I. duPont de Nemours for three years. She married Eugene Mynatt on January 2, 1954. In her later years, she taught business classes at Edmondson Business School, McKenzie Business School, National School of Business, and East Ridge High School. ....
