The vessel was built byÂ Huntington Ingalls Industries facility inÂ Pascagoula, Miss. It comes in at 418 feet long and can reach a top speed of 28 knots, has a range of 12,000 miles, and can be at sea for 60 days.
On average, national security cutters cost anywhere from $600 million to nearly $900 million to build.
âI cannot think of a better ending to 2020 than seeing the look of pride on the faces of our shipbuilders as Stone sails away from our shipyard to join the Coast Guardâs cutter fleet,â Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias said in a statement.Â ....
