Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson restored on Wednesday the Justice Department policy of holding back on election probes that could disrupt the certification process. The policy was weakened by a shady memo from Attorney General Bill Barr in the days after the election, in which Barr said probes involving election irregularities need not wait for the results to be finalized before moving forward.
At the time, then-President Trump was using false claims of mass fraud to try to stave off his defeat. It was feared that by greenlighting election probes before the results were formalized, Barr was seeking to use the Department to legitimize Trump’s narrative. Barr had spent several months in the lead-up of the election making sensational assertions about mail-in voting. Feb. 3 (UPI) The top Democratic and Republican lawmakers of the Senate Judiciary Committee have called on the Department of Justice and the FBI to answer a series of questions concerning the security failures surrounding the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol building.

Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the respective incoming chair and ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent the letter Tuesday addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson, requesting they answer their questions about the assault by Feb. 16. ....

Marilyn Manson Responds to Abuse Claims
Marilyn Manson issued a public statement in response to the allegations of sexual and emotional violence leveled against him earlier this week.
Actress Evan Rachel Wood, who spent several years in a relationship with Manson, said he’d “started grooming” her when she was a teenager and “horrifically abused” her after she’d been “brainwashed and manipulated into submission.”
Her allegations were followed by similar claims from four other woman.
Responding to the reports, Manson wrote on Instagram: “Obviously, my life and my art have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. . My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.” ....

State Senator Calls for FBI Investigation of Marilyn Manson


Following allegations of abuse levied by actress Evan Rachel Wood, as well as multiple other women, California State Senator Susan Rubio has submitted a formal request to the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner.
The proposal was sent to both Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson as well as Christopher Ray, director of the FBI, and Wood shared an screenshot of the request on Instagram.
On Feb. 1, Wood officially named Manson as her abuser, which stemmed from their past relationship which became public in 2007. The two became engaged in 2010, but split up that same year. In her statement, the actress said, in part, He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. ....
