No matter the reason for homelessness, Feed My Sheep Ministry is determined to help those in need and has been quietly doing so for more than a year in Greenville.
The ministry is led by volunteers Jacob Lewis and his wife, Samantha, and they’ve been working with the homeless mostly through word of mouth. ....

Lowe’s donates $1.5M to advance learning, fund research at UNC Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Lowe’s is donating $1.5 million to the College of Computing and Informatics (CCS) at UNC Charlotte. The funding will help strengthen the university’s position as a leading technology hub and talent provider for Lowe’s.
“We are actively hiring to build the best tech team in retail, and artificial intelligence and machine learning play increasingly important roles in how we serve customers and our associates,” said Seemantini Godbole, executive vice president and chief information officer at Lowe’s. “We are excited to extend our partnership with UNC Charlotte with this donation, which highlights our mutual dedication to developing skilled technology professionals and improving the economic health of our hometown Charlotte region.” ....

After a period of crisis when the world wide slump in music sales seemed to stymie the US CCM industry, it is now back to what it knows best and discovering top rate church-based young talent, and putting them with the impressive enclave of Nashville s young and hungry producers to make music which connects with America s Christian radio audience. This debut EP from Tori Harper is very impressive I ve little doubt that the 19-year-old will go on to big things. Taking a cue from Psalm 16:11, Joy , produced by Colby Wedgeworth (Jordan Feliz, Mandisa) is already a US Christian radio hit while the title track, overseen by Grammy winner Seth Mosley (For King & Country, Skillet) and Mike X O Conner (Colton Dixon, Brandon Heath), sounds like it, too, will soon be getting airplay. The production throughout is skilfully executed electro pop, Tori s voice is pure-toned and her lyrics uplifting but never clichéd. Yep, Nashville has another potential CCM st ....

Smithfield targeted for Latter-day Saint temple


Smithfield has been chosen along with 20 other communities for a new temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In his concluding talk at the church s annual spring conference, President Russell M. Nelson revealed the sites for 20 new temples.
Among the other Western regional locations named were Helena, Montana; Casper, Wyoming; Grand Junction, Colorado; Burley, Idaho; Elko, Nevada ;and Farmington, New Mexico.
