Biden presiding over child abuse at border, Texas Gov. Abbott claims
Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott demanded Wednesday that the White House close a San Antonio facility housing migrant children following allegations that some of them were being sexually assaulted.
During a news conference, Abbott told reporters he received tips that children at the Freeman Coliseum facility also were not eating enough.
These problems are a byproduct of President Biden’s open-border policies and the lack of planning for the fallout for those disastrous policies, Abbott said.
Separate complaints were sent to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Texas Department of Family and Protective services Wednesday, alleging four different kinds of child abuse, he said. The agencies then informed the state leadership. ....

The Biden administration says they are reactivating a temporary Influx Care Facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to potentially accommodate up to 700 migrant children within the next two weeks.
“President Biden is preparing for his own crisis at the U.S. border, with 5,000 migrant children and counting: The number of unaccompanied minors trying to cross is rising while coronavirus distancing requirements have cut by half the number of useable beds in government shelters.”
There are currently about 5,000 illegal immigrant children in the care of Health and Human Services, that’s about twice the number compared to late November.
The facility in Carrizo Springs has been unoccupied since late 2019. ....

One way to understand the capricious nature of life at Voice of America and its federal parent agency over the last seven months would have been to witness two men standing across a foosball table from each other, twisting knobs and shouting in the empty cubicles of the Spanish-language service.
Every day last summer, a senior agency adviser, Dan Hanlon, and an aide spent hours playing in offices abandoned for the pandemic. Their new CEO, Michael Pack, had sidelined them almost immediately after his arrival in June, telling others they were disloyal and untrustworthy.
