Our mistake dining at The Fisherman at Long Point was going on a rainy day. 
There was no way we could enjoy that big, two-level patio overlooking Palmer Cove with the rain pouring down, but we did appreciate the view from our window-side seat indoors and imagined a return for an outdoor visit on a sunny day. ....

Nine years ago Carlos Suarez opened his bright, rustic Italian spot Rosemary s on Greenwich Avenue, and it s been popular ever since. The team then increased their West Village presence in 2018 with another winner, the pizza restaurant Roey s, located just a couple of blocks away on the corner of Perry Street. Now Suarez s latest operation, the hotly anticipated Rosemary s East, has finally opened after a full year of pandemic delays, and the locals on the border of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village couldn t be happier. On opening night last Wednesday, there was a line up First Avenue of eager eaters waiting to grab a table, and that s with plenty of seating, too, with some 270 seats both inside and out. ....

The best plate of the evening? An order of burrata and meatballs off the Graze section of the menu. Hearty, heavy meatballs rest atop fresh burrata cheese, oozing over a rustic fennel tomato sauce. Leek oil adds depth while grilled country bread provided ample opportunities for dipping. An excellent starter, paired with a glass of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay –- buttery with hints of Golden Delicious apples, Bosc pears, toasted nuts, and oak spice. (Our vodka press was also done well.)
Another must-order: The Chopped Salad. This is an oft-mentioned dish at
New Times and elsewhere, and served at Citizen Public House for years. It s dubbed the Arizona State Salad. The thing has its own Facebook page. This Chopped Salad was served with pesto buttermilk dressing and a whole lineup of winners: arugula, couscous, Asiago cheese, pepitas, and dried currants. Timeless as ever. Kasperski, you ve still got it. ....
