115-kv transmission line in Ellis Co. is piece of Elk Creek Pipeline Midwest Energy plans new 115-kv line in Hays; town hall Thursday Hays Daily News A 115-kilovolt electric power transmission line going up southeast of Hays is a piece of the new 900-mile Elk Creek Pipeline delivering natural gas liquids from eastern Montana to facilities in Bushton. Construction of the transmission line should be wrapped up mid-March, according to Brent Luedke, Lyons, foreman for Par Electrical Contractors, Kansas City, Mo., whose crew is building the line. When completed, the 16-mile transmission line will deliver electricity from Midwest Energy Inc.’s South Hays Substation at 260th and Mt. Pleasant roads to a new substation north of Pfeifer owned by Tulsa Okla.-based OneOK Inc., and part of its major U.S. gas systems network. The substation, north of Pfeifer off Norfolk Road, is currently powered by gas. ....
SOME of the cases heard by Salisbury Magistrates : REECE KEENAN, aged 19, of Upnor Close, Perham Down, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour while drunk in Salisbury’s Guildhall Square on January 23 last year. He was fined £100 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. JAMES SLOMAN, aged 47, of Westwood Road, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to using a car without the appropriate policy of insurance. The offence took place on April 16 last year when Sloman used a silver BMW in Wilton Market Place. Sloman indicated a plea of guilty to possessing cannabis, also on April 16. He was fined £200 and was ordered to pay costs of £85. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months. ....
2/03/2021 Massachusetts Department of Transportation Boston The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing the award of $3,236,762.78 in the third round of funding from the Baker-Polito Administration’s Shared Winter Streets and Spaces program. The program, which was launched on November 10, provides technical and funding assistance to help Massachusetts cities and towns conceive, design, and implement tactical changes to curbs, streets, and parking areas in support of public health, safe mobility, and renewed commerce, with a special focus on the particular challenges of winter. The awards made today will support 21 projects in 21 municipalities, of which 43% are designated Environmental Justice communities and 76% are considered high-risk for COVID-19 infections. Additionally, 62% of today’s winners have never received a Shared Streets and Spaces award before. ....
Workington Magistrates Court A DISQUALIFIED west Cumbrian motorist has been jailed for 26 weeks after he admitted a catalogue of offences. Workington s Magistrates Court heard Cleator Moor man Matthew Jordan Watkinson committed his most recent offence as he drove a Volkswagen Passat in High Street, Cleator Moor, on March 7 last year. The 26-year-old, of Croasdale Place, Cleator Moor, initially denied driving while disqualified but changed his plea to guilty. He also admitted being uninsured. Watkinson went on to admit five more offences, mostly committed on January 28 last year. They were: Driving an off-road and non-road legal motorcross motorcycle on Norfolk Road, Penrith while over the limit for a cannabis breakdown product. ....
A fraudster who used dating apps and online dating sites to con women of thousands of pounds has been jailed. Amir Tofangsazan, 33, of Norfolk Road in Barnet, has now been jailed for three years after appearing in custody at Wood Green Crown Court today (January 29). The fraudster was originally sentenced to seven years and nine months in prison in May 2015 for 15 counts of fraud where he posed as a doctor or a barrister to woo unsuspecting women and con them. During his sentence, he was moved to an open prison in 2018 and had access to a mobile phone which he used to con even more victims. ....
